Face Masks - Important Message:Based on the Chief Health Officer’s advice all secondary school students over the age of 12 no longer are required to wear a face mask indoors at school. However, it is strongly recommended to wear a mask indoors or if you are unable to maintain 1.5m social distance, unless lawfully exempted; persons must wear face masks while travelling to and from school and on public transport until advice otherwise and in primary schools.

A face mask that covers the nose and mouth is now the only permitted type of face covering allowed. Face shields, scarves or bandanas are no longer permitted and do not meet the current guidelines set out by the Department of Education.- Cloth Mask (3 layered) - A cloth mask should be washed each day after use. However, if during the day the mask is visibly dirty or wet, do not continue wearing the mask and the mask will need to be washed.
- Surgical Masks / Disposable masks - Should be disposed of after one use and will only last up to a maximum of 4 hours. The mask should be disposed of responsibly by putting it in the rubbish bin.
Some students are exempt from these requirements. This includes students who are over the age of 12 and are unable to wear a face mask due to the nature of their disability. This also includes students who have a medical condition, such as problems with their breathing, a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or a mental health condition.

If your child is in the exempt category, please provide the College with a letter from your doctor explaining the exemption or a face mask exemption pass will be issued by the School Nurse.

Please see the below poster on how to wear a face mask correctly. See attached file for Arabic Translation.
